I started Balance Life Therapies in order to facilitate the well being of both my clients and students. Initially I trained as an advanced Reflexologist and I am now also a registered NHS Reflexologist. I have a diploma in Holistic Therapies, am a member of the British School of Yoga, a member of the Association of Reflexologists, I belong to the Guild of Complementary Practitioners and the Aromatherapy Organisations Council. Besides this, I am also a qualified teacher and fully qualified Bach Therapist.

My professional interests lie in developing the Indian Head Massage therapy into a spiritual energy treatment and I have developed a very powerful energy balancing technique that is incorporated into both my reflexology treatments and teaching to optimise the benefits for both client and practitioner. My personal interests include Feng Shui and vegetarian nutrition.

Although I was born near Kettering, I lived in London, Bournemouth and High Wycombe  before returning to Kettering in 1993 to start my holistic health practice
My background was science and I studied for a pharmacy degree and worked in a range of laboratories  in cosmetics, print  and adhesives becoming involved in all aspects of quality  control and business practice .
My interest in Reflexology  began in the early 1970’s when  I found a book and started to work on my own feet and anyone else who was willing to sit still with some very surprising results.  This  only fuelled my enthusiasm and interest
At the time I was also  looking at health issues as my father was suffering from ‘hardened arteries’ and undergoing some major surgery . As a result of concerns about my own future health I  became a vegetarian in 1976 and continued to follow my interest in alternative lifestyles and therapies over the next 20 years . I was very fortunate that  in 1987 I was able to study Reflexology and with the help of my partner I intended to  set up in practice whilst caring for our  adoptive child
As often happens when starting on  this  therapeutic path - things did not go to plan !

However I did subsequently   foster a daughter, study Massage,Aromatherapy, Indian head massage and Bach flower remedies .  I continued to work part time in the  ‘sticky label industry ‘and as a part time therapist. I attended  many health  fayres  to  advertise my therapies and   joined a network of therapists in the area ,by chance  meeting  Bernie Hephrum from Butter bur and Sage  and I was lucky enough to work for him selling  his essential oils and products  and attending    his post graduate  aromatherapy courses.
Sadly two years after returning to Kettering  my foster daughter left and I have since worked full time as a therapist and tutor and continued to study all aspects of health and complementary therapies
My personal interests include  Feng Shui and vegetarian nutrition  and the scientific basis of therapy and ill health . I have achieved a diploma in health sciences  and completed  an open university degree  which included subjects as diverse as human biology,  the history of medicine,  understanding diabetes and  the biology  of  psychology.

30 years on , I have no intention of retiring from  work that I find personally very rewarding and continually challenging . Recently health and family problems  have forced my to reconsider my work life balance but I still intend to promote the benefits of taking control of lifestyle and health and how complementary therapies can help
I also  intend to study further and hopefully share my expertise, experience  and enthusiasm  with clients ,  fellow therapists  and others interested in understanding and taking control of their own health.
